Stardust Roller Rink

Problem

Patrons were noticeably perspiring on and off the floor and constantly asking the owner to make it cooler.

Solution

They installed a MacroAir AirVolution 24′ fan and ran it to supplement their A/C.

Result

Patrons are more comfortable and the energy bill was reduced by over $1,000 per month.

Residents of California’s Inland Empire are no strangers to the heat. But when you own a popular roller skating rink and your patrons are constantly asking you to make it cooler, the cost implications can make even the most seasoned businessperson break a sweat. Such was the case for Bruce Bragassa, owner of Stardust Roller Rink in San Bernardino, CA. Despite running his air conditioning system, and with barrel fans blowing in two corners of the 22,000 square foot facility, skaters were noticeably perspiring both on and off the floor.

Revamping the existing air conditioning unit would have proven cost-prohibitive. What Stardust needed was a solution that moved a large volume of cooled air at the ceiling down to the skaters below.

“I’d discovered MacroAir’s website and thought this is too good to be true,so I contacted MacroAir and had a chance to see a fan in operation. That’s when I knew we absolutely had to get one.” -Bruce Bragassa, Owner, Stardust Roller Rink

Stardust opted for an AirVolution 24′, and the results have been nothing short of spectacular. Since installing the fan, Stardust uses their air conditioning sparingly, and Bruce has seen his energy bill reduced by over $1,000 a month.

“It’s by far the coolest thing I’ve done since opening the rink.”  -Bruce Bragassa, Owner, Stardust Roller Rink
