Glendale Community College

Problem

The school wanted to prevent an uncomfortable environment within the campus' Sports Performance and Movement Lab.

Solution

They installed two of MacroAir’s large commercial AVD370 fans – ideal for athletic applications.

Result

They now have a comfortable climate with balanced airflow allowing occupants to participate effectively in high-level fitness activities.

In 2017 Glendale Community College in Glendale, AZ celebrated the grand opening of the campus’ new Exercise Science & Nutrition Building. The 10,000 square-foot building is a state-of-the-art Sports Performance and Movement Lab. It is equally open to students and members of the community. In order to make the space even better, the college installed MacroAir AVD370 fans. The addition of commercial ceiling fans creates a more comfortable climate that can accommodate the many physical activities available in this wellness facility.

“We used the fans in the fitness lab. It is a high performance training, physiology, measurements lab, and teaching facility.” – Doug McCord, AIA, LEED AP BD+C/H – Architectural Resource Team

MacroAir commercial ceiling fans are the perfect fit for this contemporary teaching space. Furthermore, they allow the school is able to provide academic and athletic services. All at affordable prices in a comfortable, productive environment.

“The end user wanted another level of adaptability for air conditioning or cooling the space because there is a lot of activity going on. Everyone else in the building might be comfortable at the set temperature, but—for the activity going on in the fitness lab. By creating air movement, people involved in a high level of activity can still maintain their comfort without dropping the temperature to an unnaturally low level.” – Terri Soliman, Interior Designer/Project Manager – Architectural Resource Team
