Chris Cox, 3-Time RTTH Champion, Chooses MacroAir HVLS fans

Road to the Horse (RTTH) is unlike any other horse event. It’s the championship of colt-starting: horse trainers choose untouched young horses and teach them to ride – in just a few hours in front of spectators and judges. Chris Cox is RTTH’s undisputed champion, having won his third championship this year.

Chris Cox’s entire life has been influenced by horses. Although born in America, he grew up on a cattle ranch on a small island off the coast of northeast Australia. As a young man, he moved back to America and started training horses. Over time, he developed a step-by-step method to teach horse riders good horsemanship.

Today, he teaches horsemanship classes across the country and at his ranch in Mineral Wells, Texas. He even has his own television show. You can learn more about Chris and his story by watching this video he posted on his Facebook page.

Not surprisingly, the indoor arena on Chris’ ranch can get pretty hot in the summer, so Chris turned to MacroAir for a solution. We installed two 24-foot HVLS Airvolution fans in his arena and now horses and riders practice in comfort.

MacroAir HVLS fans can reduce barn and indoor arena temperatures by as much as ten degrees. They help regulate humidity, so molds and pathogens don’t get in the air and into the lungs of horses and riders. In addition, MacroAir HVLS fans cost less to run than conventional box fans – so they do a better job while keeping energy costs low.

Says Chris about his new fans: “The summer months here in Texas are tough on the horses as well as the livestock and trainers. I had to find a solution to cool down my indoor arena so I turned to the folks at MacroAir Technologies. These fans really do the job!!!”

Thanks, Chris! Your work with horses (and people) is inspiring, too!
