MacroAir Leads the HVLS Industry with Only Gearless Fan Line
San Bernardino, Calif.– Since its 2014 summer launch, the AirVolution-D fan line by MacroAir is the only gearless, High Volume Low Speed (HVLS) fan available on the market today that has the power to move a 24’ HVLS fan. The demand for the AirVolution-D has greatly exceeded preliminary projections, and MacroAir is anticipated to be the exclusive manufacturer of gearless motor technology well into 2016.
At the core of MacroAir ingenuity is the constant strive to reinvent and reimagine the art of airflow, which is what ultimately lead to the conception and execution of the world’s first gearless, direct-drive motor capable of powering 24’ HVLS fan. Because oil leaks, grinding noise, seal breakdown and mechanical failure are common problems with gear-driven motors, MacroAir made it their mission to eliminate these problems—and succeeded.
“In 2011, we set out to design the quietest, lightest, most reliable fan on the market,” said Eddie Boyd, President & CEO of MacroAir. “That led to the invention of our cutting edge, gearless motor. In fact, we’ve entirely cut out the fan’s gearbox. In doing so, we’ve also gotten rid of the mess, mass and maintenance costs associated with gear-driven fan motors.”
Unlike a traditional DC motor, the gearless motor coil is made up of a simple copper ring with ultra-low resistance, delivering a 40% improvement in efficiency allowing the fan to generate 50% more air movement than conventional gearbox motor designs.
AirVolution-D is currently available in four model options:
Model 370– Combines exceptional power in a compact design. With blades ranging from 6 to 12 feet, it integrates into most small spaces. This model is perfect for hotels, restaurants, retailers and small office spaces. It is also color customizable to seamlessly fit into the design aesthetic of many spaces.
Model 550– Extremely effective at controlling temperature and humidity. With blades ranging from 8 to 18 feet, these fans are ideal for medium to large spaces such as auto shops, gyms, and agricultural applications such as dairy farms and equine facilities.
Model 780– Designed for heavy-duty applications. With blades ranging from 20 to 24 feet, it is perfect for extra-large spaces like warehouses, airports, and stadiums
AirVolution-D3 – MacroAir’s most cost-effective unit blows away the leading competitor’s entry-level model. For the first time, cost doesn’t have to be a barrier to an HVLS fan.
MacroAir’s gearless technology can be seen in action at the 2015 ProMat show coming up March 23 -26 in Chicago. AirVolution-D will be on display overhead at the MacroAir booth, #3544.
