During our build process and beyond, we were in search of the right fans to move air efficiently in our Barndo. we looked at many fans and fan types. After extensive research – we decided on MacroAir Fans. Let me tell you why…
First, at our Barndo Compound, we're big fans – literally – of HVLS (High-Volume, Low-Speed) fans—especially those from MacroAir. We currently have four of these impressive units: three 10-foot diameter fans (one in the great room and two in the outdoor living area) and a 12-foot diameter fan in the garage shop. They have a sleek look and are designed to move air. These fans have become a welcome addition to our Barndo!
Why are we so excited about MacroAir fans?

We like a good price for the value offered and performance offered. While many fans are available, few match the efficiency of HVLS models. A single 8–10-foot HVLS fan can move more air than four to six smaller, traditional fans. We have a lot of underbrush and a creek on our property. So, we contend with a significant mosquito population. When our HVLS fans are set to a certain speed, they create a powerful air barrier that keeps flying insects away… making our porch area virtually bug-free day and night. We were not expecting this, but we love it.
There are some well-designed HVLS fans on the market. With their high ceilings, expansive open spaces, and integrated rooms, Barndominiums greatly benefit from the robust air circulation provided by HVLS fans. These fans enhance the spaciousness and overall experience of our Barndo, perfectly complementing its design. And as we said earlier, they look good too!
